Product philosophy
We build from the field.
Attendly isn’t designed from a conference room. Our CEO, Vikrant Duggal, and Surya Voinar, who leads product, spend their time on site with district partners: in discovery meetings with program leaders, at in-person trainings with site staff, and on observation days watching programs run, from before-school doors at 7 AM to the last pickup of the evening. What we see, we record and share, so our engineering team learns from the same moments we do.
Our engineers don’t build from tickets alone. They sit in on meetings with our district partners, lead product demos, and hear feedback firsthand. They study our partners’ work: the pain at the front office and the check-in table, the rules that govern expanded learning in California, and what the CDE expects at every reporting deadline. Every engineer on our team is expected to understand why a feature matters to a site lead or a district office before they write a line of code.
How we build
- 01
Listen.
We start with the people doing the work, and we take what they tell us seriously, especially the frustrations.
- 02
Observe.
What people say and what actually happens aren’t always the same. We watch programs run to see the workarounds, the clipboards, and the moments that slow staff down.
- 03
Verify.
Before we build, we check our understanding with partners and against state requirements. After we ship, we go back to see whether it worked.

Walk us through how your programs run today. We’ll map the workflow with your team and show you where the manual work can go, whether or not you use Attendly.

We build to end administrative agony, the hours lost to paper forms, re-entered data, and reports rebuilt from scratch, so staff can spend that time with students.
We build with empathy, because we know what a busy afternoon at a program site feels like.
We build with conviction, because some things should simply be true: every family deserves equal access, every recovered hour should hold up, and every student should be accounted for.
We build with a mission: to make our district partners successful, and through them, the students and families they serve.
