Attendance & Student Whereabouts
From the field. Attendance is what your funding rests on, and it happens at the busiest moments of the day: doors opening before school and pickup after. Check-in and check-out should take seconds, not minutes with a clipboard. And between drop-off and pickup, staff need to know where every student is, who they’re with, and who is authorized to take them home.

The pain
Every minute of attendance has to hold up later, and every student has to be accounted for now.
Before-school and after-school programs report attendance for funding. When check-in lives on paper sign-in sheets, staff re-enter it after everyone goes home, and the mistakes show up at the reporting deadline. Meanwhile, during the program day, there’s no quick way to see who’s on site, which room or activity they’re in, or whether the adult at pickup is authorized to take them.
How it works
Check in, check out, and know where every student is in between.

- 01
Parents sign in with a PIN
For before-school programs, parents check their child in at a kiosk using their own unique PIN, with no staff bottleneck at the door.
- 02
Staff check students in fast
Staff check students in one at a time or in bulk as they arrive, so a full group is recorded in seconds.
- 03
Follow students between programs
When students move from one program to the next during the afternoon, automated flows check them out of one and into the next, so attendance is recorded accurately in each program.
- 04
See where every student is
Staff and site leads see which program each student is in, and who’s still on site.
- 05
Release at checkout
Parents sign their child out with their PIN, and Attendly records who picked each student up and when.
- 06
Correct at the door
Authorized staff fix a mistake where it happened, instead of after everyone goes home.
- 07
Report for funding
Attendance from every program flows into ASES and ELO-P reporting.

-
The usual way: No one knows where a student is without walking the site.
How Attendly does it: Staff see which program each student is in.
-
The usual way: Pickup recorded on a clipboard, if at all.
How Attendly does it: Every checkout records who picked the student up and when, and early pickups capture an Early Release code, so the reason is on record.
-
The usual way: Mistakes surface at the reporting deadline.
How Attendly does it: Authorized staff correct them at the door, where they happened.
Designed with our partners
